Catalyst for Payment Reform

The need for high-value mental health care has never been clearer.

CPR is hosting a strategic roundtable that revolves around peer-to-peer learning and sharing on the challenges, opportunities, and solutions available in the mental health space. The goal is to support employers and other health care purchasers as they navigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their workforce.

In addition to group discussions, the Collaborative will feature vendor presentations from select mental health vendors. Participants will offer input on and obtain purchaser-led specifications for evaluating high-value mental health care solutions.

Awareness. Need. Demand.

A silver lining of the pandemic has been a renewed spotlight on the importance of mental health. However, COVID-19 has also brought about a wave of new sources of stress, anxiety, and higher incidences of even more serious conditions such as clinical depression or post-traumatic stress disorder.

In our new virtual world, the line between home and worklife is further blurred, if not non-existent. Even as some employees return to the office or other work settings, many of the challenges of shifting roles and responsibilities – both personal and professional – remain.

Many employers and employees are struggling with emerging mental health issues. Employers and other health care purchasers are also seeking new and evolving solutions designed to meet these needs.

This Collaborative provides a forum for peer-to-peer sharing regarding the challenges and opportunities in the mental health space, and you’ll walk away with strategies and quick wins to deploy with your plan members.

Overview of the Collaborative

Description: This Collaborative revolves around peer-to-peer learning and sharing, as well as evaluating high-value mental health care solutions. Participants also benefit from the input of CPR staff and a subject matter expert. The Collaborative will start in October 2020 and is scheduled to conclude in February 2021.

Format: CPR will facilitate monthly virtual meetings with the group. In addition to these meetings, the Collaborative will feature vendor presentations from select mental health vendors during a separate meeting.

Output: As a follow up from CPR’s first Collaborative on high-value mental health care, CPR will lead development of updated purchaser-led specifications for evaluating high-value mental health care solutions.

As a parallel effort to the Collaborative, CPR will be conducting vendor product evaluations leveraging the updated specifications. Participants will also receive detailed scorecards based on the results. Check out other Collaborative outputs.

Participation Fee: Given the criticality of mental health during these challenging times, CPR is waiving its usual participation fee and encourages purchasers to leverage the support of their peers and CPR through this roundtable.

Non-Purchasers: If you are not an employer-purchaser but are interested in working with CPR, contact us at connect@catalyze.org.  We can explore ways to work together.
