On May 17, Catalyst for Payment Reform, in partnership with UCSF/UC Hastings Consortium on Law, Science, and Health Policy, hosted a virtual summit to launch The State Laws Impacting Healthcare Cost and Quality (SLIHCQ) Database.

The database houses state legislation governing price transparency, provider market power, provider payment, provider networks and health insurance benefit design. The purpose of the database is to help purchasers, states, and policy makers understand their legal and regulatory environment as they make efforts to improve access, quality, and efficiency and reduce costs in health care. The database is a publicly-available, interactive tool for researchers and other stakeholders to learn more about state legal and regulatory environments, including the functionality to search which states have specific legislation in place.
