Thank you to our presenters, David Hines, Executive Director of Employee Benefits at MNPS, and C.J. Stimson, M.D. J.D. Senior Vice President of Value Transformation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

David kicked off the event by introducing attendees to MNPS, which buys health care for 18,000 covered lives, spending $100 million annually.  Then, he and C.J. detailed their direct contract bundled payment arrangement for maternity – which bundles everything from the first prenatal visit, enhanced services like patient navigator support, the hospital delivery, and care through three months post-partum – all with zero out-of-pocket costs for the member. Since the program launched at the beginning of 2020, the Metro Nashville Public Schools’ direct contract has incurred $3,500 savings per episode and seen a 25% reduction in cesarean deliveries, along with a high Net Promoter Score of 88.  Finally, David wrapped up by introducing the new bundles MNPS launched in 2021 and those planned for 2022 and beyond.
