Catalyst for Payment Reform and the Health Care Incentives Improvement Institute (now the Center for Payment Innovation at Altarum Institute) have tracked which states are making tangible headway in advancing price transparency year-over-year, either through legislation or other state-wide initiatives, like all-payer claims databases (APCDs) or public websites with health care price information.
